METAMORPHOSIS  ARTWORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN

“I would do anything for your smile”

Healthy teeth are important and the oral care should start from birth on. Even if there are no teeth to see yet, these being on their way in, early dental care matters. And because playful learning is always the best approach,

During the ROXY & KIDS ART workshops the little ones age 1-6 years-old

“turn” to a different material to create their artworks: TOOTHPASTE.

Black, red, blue, green, pink, white and ivory, these color tones come right

out of the child-friendly tubes of toothpaste and that is really fascinating for

the little ones. The kids`paintings will then be interpreted by the visual artists from ROXY&KIDS ART,  the result being wonderful co-works with drawings integrated on top of the so joyfully "delivered“ abstract creations. This special collaborative art

project represents an outstanding experience for the children, who learn in a

totally different manner what dental health means. During their art classes togetherness, love and laughter are as important components as colored toothpaste, tooth brushes and canvases. The artists inspire and encourage the kids to scribble, doodle and paint the music and the sounds they love, to put on paper the sweet taste of a toothpaste or the scent of it. The resulting abstract artworks are then analyzed, interpreted and transformed by the artists. They try to connect with the children and help them express emotions, often difficult to express otherwise , help them vent their pent-up, repressed feelings.

The "completed" artworks show the artists´drawings integrated on top of the so joyfully "delivered“children’s abstract creation. There are also little poems, rhymes and short sentences, that fit harmoniously in the composition. They are inspired while creating and "dreaming" together with the children, sometimes they even transcribe their thoughts, opinions and comments. These unique artworks capture somehow what it is like to experience synesthesia.

The participants are inspired to paint or draw in an abstract manner, to graphically express different sensations through synasthesia.

Roxana Ené talks to each of the participants about their feelings and their states of mind, asking them what they wanted to communicate through their paintings.

After the workshop, our artists transform the drawings done at the workshop, adding their own imagination and fantasy, creatingtrue works of art.
